Charles Collins for Maryland State Senate ​

Charles Collins is a graduate of University of Maryland and the University of Massachusetts, and has studied tobacco control and public health at the Johns Hopkins University.  After earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology and social work, Mr. Collins began work with the Johns Hopkins University, collaborating with the National Institutes of Health, studying the physical and behavioral aspects of drug addiction in adult and adolescent populations, and the efficacy of treatment modalities in substance abusers both in and out of the criminal justice system.  While managing research protocols at NIH, Mr. Collins completed his master’s degree in public health at the University of Massachusetts, School of Public Health and Health Sciences, and earned a certificate of graduate studies in forensic psychology from UMASS, Lowell, School of Criminal Justice.  Mr. Collins has published 12 articles in peer reviewed journals, and has presented research findings at international conferences.  Mr. Collins also has volunteered with the Baltimore County Police Department and the Conflict Resolution Center for Baltimore County where he studied the links connecting community policing, public health, and emergency management.  While Mr. Collins continues his work at Johns Hopkins, he also teaches as an adjunct professor at the Community College of Baltimore County.
